DSM has been a great place to live, work and thrive. What makes DSM great is that it continues to change and develop just like we all do in life. It is a great place to call my home.

Tim includes the region’s 800+ miles of local bike trails, as well as community parks and pools on his list of Greater Des Moines (DSM) favorites. The connected trail system throughout the region elevates DSM as a hidden gem destination for outdoor activities including biking, walking, running, rollerblading, cross-country skiing, skateboarding and more. He looks forward to summertime trips exploring neighborhood parks and family fun at the area’s local pools and aquatic centers.

Another of Tim’s favorite DSM favorites is the rich offering of live music and concert venues. The region a diverse mix of music and concerts from big name performers like Taylor Swift, Elton John and Carrie Underwood on stages like Vibrant Music Hall, the Iowa State Fair Grandstand and Wells Fargo Arena, to cool theater shows at Hoyt Sherman and lesser-known acts at smaller entertainment venues like xBK Live. Plus, big-time music events like 80/35, Hinterland and Iowa Speedway race weekend entertainment draw record crowds and top performers as well. Tim also enjoys the incredible outdoor festival opportunities the region has to offer, as well

Des Moines Public Schools is top of Tim’s list of favorites in DSM. As a teacher in the district and a supporter of the community’s vibrant, innovative and diverse public schools, Tim believes it’s not just a great place to work, but a great place for his own kids to find themselves and receive an outstanding education.
