Maybe We Should Introduce Ourselves...

Hi. We’re Greater Des Moines (you can call us DSM). We’re a community of communities. Think small towns, big cities, suburbs and rural pockets. You’ll find us in the center of Iowa, in the center of the United States.

Some people call it “flyover country” and well, they don’t know what they’re missing. Because once people are on the ground, they want to root themselves here. (We’re Midwesterners, we don’t like to brag, but if you’ll permit a little bragging: we're the fastest growing major metro in the Midwest, 10 years running.)

We are just so proud of what the region and where we’re heading — and we’re proud of the people who make it so.

So What Will You Find in DSM?

Here you’ll find a place that doesn’t just feel like home, but IS home: a comfy, familiar home. But just outside your front door, there’s something surprising and delightful to discover around every corner. (We don’t do boring here.)

DSM is a place where innovative thinkers are leading forward and bringing everyone into the fold. We work together to solve problems and support communities and neighbors. We seize opportunities and we make opportunities.

But perhaps, most importantly, we’re committed to building meaningful lives for ourselves and for others. To us, that’s what greater means. We're greater when we’re connected, fulfilled and rooted in a community we love and that loves us back.
