I love Des Moines because it has all the attractions and diversity of a big city, but it feels like a small town. It’s such a beautiful city with lots of opportunties to enjoy nature with its vast trail system and beautiful parks.

One of Tag’s favorite things to do is relaxing at the Des Moines Biergarten, located in Downtown DSM’s Water Works Park. A family-friendly popup German-themed beer offering German-inspired food and steins of beer, Des Moines Biergarten is a great place to grab a pint with friends or bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun.

Tag also enjoys catching a Triple-A baseball game at Principal Park. Home of the Iowa Cubs, Principal Park is a great place for baseball fans and family fun! Don’t miss fireworks after every Friday home game; also on Sundays after gameplay, kids have the chance to run the bases on the field!

Spending Saturday morning at Des Moines’ Downtown Farmers’ Market is another of Tag’s favorite DSM activities. Located in the Historic Court District, the Downtown Farmers’ Market features farm-fresh produce, meat, cheese and eggs, baked goods, ready-to-eat prepared foods, live music and entertainment, handmade art, apparel and jewelry and lots more. One of the top-ranked farmers’ markets in America, enjoy The Market every Saturday from May through October.
