I love that Des Moines has big city amenities without the big city hassles.
At the top of the list of Megan’s favorite things in DSM is summer festival season. Megan loves the Des Moines Arts Festival®, CelebrAsian, 80/35 and Hinterland — to name a few. She enjoys the variety of festivals available to attend in DSM and the fun activities at each unique event.
Megan’s longtime favorite activity in DSM is enjoying the Downtown Farmers’ Market. She enjoys grabbing weekly produce, supporting local farmers and snacking on the absolute best dumplings from local vendor, Dumpling House DSM. A Downtown Des Moines (DSM) gem, Megan loves to attend The Market with her family and puppy during the summer Market season, which runs May through October annually.
A new favorite on Megan’s list of favorites is the Des Moines Biergarten. Her family loves to spend a lazy afternoon at the German-themed beer garden located in Downtown DSM at Water Works Park, basking in the sun or relaxing in the shade. It’s an activity the whole family can enjoy! (Even her doggo is welcome to join the fun there too.)
