I love DSM for the incredible amenities, the chance to connect with familiar faces, the rich cultural diversity and the unbeatable affordability.

At the top of Hayley’s DSM favorites list is the World Food and Music Festival! This unique festival takes place over a weekend in August in Downtown DSM bringing together approximately 100,000 people, over 60 food vendors that represent over 30 countries and entertainment representing different cultures from across the world.  

Another of Hayley’s favorites takes place in Downtown DSM with this one being the Downtown Des Moines Farmer’s Market. The Market, taking place every Saturday morning from the beginning of May until the end of October, is a great place to get some local produce, try some artisan food or find some flowers to take home. 

One of Hayley’s go-to spots for food, drinks and games is Smash Park in West Des Moines. Whether you’re in the mood for pickleball, arcade games, a specialty cocktail or some delicious food, Smash Park has it all!
