Job Description

Wixted & Company, a full-service communication strategy, counsel and training firm, is looking to hire a Strategic Communication Director to join our ever-growing team. This position is responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships and managing projects day-to-day.

This role is responsible for everyday decisions on selected account(s) and is accountable for the client(s) strategic communication plan, generating new ideas, implementing process improvements, growing client relationships and sharing insights that benefit his/her own accounts with other teams. With the help of selected team members, this person facilitates client meetings, schedules planning times, manages team cohesion and potential conflicts. This associate is the primary contact for monthly billing.

Essential Job Functions

Oversee project management
•Ensure workflow routing process is efficient and implemented correctly
•Ensure projects are completed within set budget parameters

Develop Client Deliverables
• Serve as primary strategy and communications expert
• Write/edit client deliverables
• Ensure overall accuracy appropriate tone/approach

Manage client communications
• Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact
• Lead weekly status calls with clients
• Establish client meetings and agenda development with clients
• Oversee client approvals and engage with clients as appropriate

Manage staffing and support Wixted leadership
• Establish and communicate staffing needs
• Provide day-to-day oversight, consultation, and team management
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members
• Work with other functional leaders to facilitate necessary resources to support the account(s)

Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded
• Ensure client communication is consistent and ongoing
• Manage priority projects in a hands-on basis
• Participate in regular internal team status meetings and provide the necessary level of guidance to ensure client deliverables are on track
• Manage quarterly agency reviews or client satisfaction process with assigned accounts in conjunction with Vice President or President
• Be anticipatory and strive to add value daily

Manage account financials
• Manage budgets for account(s)
• Identify new growth opportunities that benefit the client and the firm
• Ensure accurate monthly forecasting and reporting
• Supervise and approve estimates, work authorizations, and invoices

Participate in firm best practices
• Share projects and learnings with peers
• Serve as key liaison between the team and senior leadership
• Be a role model of Wixted core values
• Focus on developing and securing cross-selling or new business opportunities with new and existing clients

Experience

10+ years of experience in managing people and work teams with a focus on building and maintaining relationships amongst managers, staff and senior level client contacts

Experience in a firm or agency environment, preferably in a client service role
